The Stage West concept originated in Edmonton in 1975 when the Pechet family opened the first Stage West Theare Restaurant in the Mayfield Inn. After several trips to the United States to investigate dinner theatre, the Stage West concept was born; take an elaborate buffet, combined with entertaining comedies and musicals headlined by professional stars of TV, screen and theatre and you have Stage West Theatre Restaurant. The concept was a smashing success almost from day one and the theatre expanded to new markets, including Calgary and Mississauga. Stage West All Suite Hotel opened in Mississauga in October 1990 and is now called the Ramada Plaza Toronto Airport and Stage West Theatre.
